Hi. I’m Geoff. I write books. I have Young Adult work about the Reinstein brothers, Stupid Fast, and the forthcoming Nothing Special (May 2012) — both from Sourcebooks Fire. I also wrote The Miracle Letters of T. Rimberg from Three Rivers Press.
I teach creative writing at Minnesota State, Mankato. There I focus on fiction and long story both in script and book form. It’s a great program. I love Mankato.
In my spare time, I write scripts for various performances. In the past I’ve written for Electric Arc Radio, Radio Happy Hour, Powderkeg Live and The Lit 6 Project. I co-wrote the musical Don’t Crush Our Heart. And I’m working with grad students right now to make a prompt-driven short story show called Tales from the Poor House, which is being broadcast on KMSU radio.
I’m represented by Jim McCarthy at Dystel and Goderich.
Other than that, I have two perfect kids, Leo and Mira and a very tall wife named Steph.
